Hello Everyone!
Can I just say the Queen of Awesomeness wishes you all an Awesome New Year 😁
And yup we are in that time of year where, everyone is rushing, trying to organize their life, ready to complete their New Years Resolution determined to finally keep them, however, hard that may be. But sometimes harder than keeping one is creating one suitable in the first place. Stuck for ideas? Here are a few New Years Resolutions.
- To love my body regardless of its body type, its current mass etc
- To eat five fruits and vegetables a day
- To drink more water
- To complete more research on the history of medicine, e,g why not research about Hippocrates?😉
- To read a self-help book every month
- To watch programs which will aid to, my personal growth, and will help me motivate me to become a healthier person, e,g: super size vs super skinny
- To take up a new class, e,g Sumba, swimming etc
- To move around more
- To learn a new recipe every single week
- To explore food from different cultures
- To learn about my body type in order to have a realistic visualization of what a healthy body type is for me
- To reduce the amount of processed foods I eat
- To increase the number of times I eat home-cooked foods
- To lose weight healthily and see it as a work in progress rather than an expectation for, perfection.
- To live each moment to the fullest, by being kind to myself through conceding kindness to my body.
As you may see these health goals aren’t necessarily big, crazy, oomph ones (such as go bungee jumping in the Amazonian rainforest just after I finish trekking through the Sahara desert) but when achieving any goal, baby steps are always vital.
It’s more than possible to complete your New Years Resolution, it takes time, dedication and perseverance but we can all do it!
What is your New Year Goals?
My New Year goals are to fix my relationships with my brother and mum, get back in shape, and get better grades. Simple idea, tough carry-through. But I’ll do it for sure.
All of your ideas are fine, I’d just caution you on the “read a self-help book each month.” There’s a such thing as too much self-help and it can be more damaging than not doing anything at all. It’s because you start to question if you’ll ever be good enough and it can get problematic. In my opinion, it’s best to just read self-help books as needed because you’re the one judging that you can do better and you want to do better. You’re more motivated to improve yourself and it’s safer.
By the way, is that a new profile picture you have? You look so pretty!

This is an awesome post. I think it’s very important for people to set health goals. I also think it’s very important for people to set achievable goals. Sometimes people set too high of goals where they can’t achieve them. Small goals are what give people greater outcomes!

Trying more new recipes and learning more on a subject (history of medicine would be interesting!) are good ones for me too. I also wants to practice more gratefulness, write a little more and stop stressing so much. I think being healthy is great, though I would also say (from some who had eating disorders for years) you are beautiful as you are, even if your body shape never changes! Perhaps focusing on what your body allows you to do each day and why you are thankful for it would be a good one for your list? 🙂

Thank you for the kind suggestion, it was what I was trying to suggest with number 15, but I’ll definitely take your advice on stating why you are thankful for it 😊. As someone who previously also dealt with body image issues, and began to make herself sick to see if I would look even skinnier (and believe me I was naturally skinner than most people anyway) I can’t stress the importance of loving yourself, and to not ever let the media mess up with your mind.
